Genesis Design was formed by a husband and wife duo in 1994. Intially started with only two other assistant architects, The firm has gone through many phases in the constuction industry of this country; Through civil war, Covid and reason economic crisis. The pracitice, has thus eveloved with the changing times but with with it’s vision , service , architectural excellece and intergrity intact. 

By blending two unique architectural styles, we create work that is rich, thoughtful, and exceptional.

She has been in practice for over 15 years and has experience in a wide varity projects. She has won many accolades for her work. She is also a qualified urban designer. Educated both at the University of Moratuwa and at the Colombo school of architecture. 

She is also an academic with a Master’s degree in Urban Design. She served as a year coordinator at the Colombo School of Architecture for nine years. Since resigning from CSA, she has been a visiting lecturer, design tutor, and critic at the University of Moratuwa, City School of Architecture, and the Sri Lanka Institute of Technology.

Architecture is basically a container of something.

Architect Jayanath Silva. FIA(sl), RIBA.

In the shaping of Architect Jayanth Silva’s journey, his time spent under the  guidance of the legendary Architect Geoffrey Bawa was a defining chapter. It was here that his passion for design was nurtured, and his craft refined, paving the way for a career rooted in timeless elegance and inspired creativity.

He also served as a Senior Lecturer at the University of Moratuwa and the Colombo School of Architecture. Since stepping down, he continues to lend his expertise as a visiting critic at these institutions, as well as at the Sri Lanka Institute of Technology and the Sir John Kotelawala Academy.
